The Basic Forms Of Tyranny-Part Eight (Power Broker Tyranny-Session Two)
The Basic Forms Of Tyranny-Part Eight (Power Broker Tyranny-Session Two)
There are really two type of power brokers.
1. Public power brokers- This is when elected officeholders jockey amongst themselves for positions. In a multi-party democracy it could be for Chief Minister(equivalent to state head executive) or Prime Minister (equivalent to federal head executive). In the USA, this public power brokering is quite rampant in deciding what elected officeholder belongs to what committee and also what elected officeholder is chosen for an officer's position in a legislative body.
2. Private power brokers- This mainly has to do with the Attorney At-Law Officialdom and with their subordinate lobbyist regime. Most of their power brokering is in the judiciary but their subordinate lobbyist regime conducts itself in the legislative and executive branches of government.
Unions and other Non-Government/Non-Profit Organizations are also considered private power brokers. They are private entities that register with government to serve a "charitable" and "noble" purpose. In Socialist/Communist nations, they generally serve its union members. In nations that has Fascist and/or Power Broker rule, much power is conferred to union management.
In nations which are highly compromised by power broker tyrannical rule, the people in charge of NGOs and NPOs have a significant and even powerful role. The operators of foundations, funded by taxpayers and tax-exempt contributions, have the authority of a private sector company without having to be accountable to free market forces. The NGO/NPO Elites are power brokers and not the people who do productive work for the NGOs/NPOs.
