The Representarian Party-Part Six

The Representarian Party-Part Six

The American Constitution was written so that an intimidating power would not emerge and dominate Americans. Yet the BAR "Lawyer-Lobbyist Regime" has done just that.

The Representarian Party believes that if a divided and public Representative Republic is to exist, then a proper Representative Democracy must exist. It must be noted that democracy is how people are chosen for office in government. A republic is a form of government.

The core features of this new political party in regards to Representative Democracy are as follows.

1. Dual participation in the three branches of government must cease. For example, one cannot advocate the law in the judiciary and then make or administer the law in the legislative or executive branches of government. Moreover since a bureaucrat cannot serve in public office, why should a judicial advocate be allowed to do the same?

2. Public balloting must be restored. For a vote to count, a voter must reveal his/her identity in casting his/her choice for public officeholder. For over a century, public balloting was the practice since the founding of the nation.

3. Different modes of election are a must. The three modes are direct election, electoral voting, and the choosing of electors who vote on behalf of the electorate. Different modes are needed for head executives and lawmakers at the federal, state, and local levels.

4. For a proper Representative Democracy to work, the age requirement for voting must be restricted. While it is permissible for an 18 year old to vote for a local "lawmaker", it is not wise for a teenager to vote for the President Of The United States or even cast ballots for electors who will choose the President on his or her behalf.

The POTUS is a complex position. He or she is not only the head of the federal executive branch, he or she is also the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. The POTUS also have veto powers on all federal legislation. Therefore, having teenagers choose an individual with such responsibilities is indeed irresponsible. The chances are high than the teen would not think objectively but rather would instead take decision based on his/her gut instincts who his/her choice for President should be.

5. Elections for judicial, law enforcement, and bureaucratic positions need to cease. These elections, whether direct or even indirect, simply politicize these positions. That leads to lack of uniformity and to selective enforcement in applying the law. This must stop as the positions should not be subject to populist winds.

There are other features but these five features are the top priorities of The Representarian Party in making America into a Representative Republic again.
