Ban Lawyers From Office- Why Government Must Remain Simple-By Harsha Sankar
Dear Citizen, January 2007
No apologies should be extended that active counsel, not exclusive to bar
association attorneys, should not hold public office. Two + two will always equal four.
Certain truths are self-evident. How can anyone logically think that one who
"practices" law in the judiciary will not make laws in the legislative and executive
that benefits thems in the most direct manner? How can anyone logically think
a bar association judge will not favor his colleagues? While it is true that many
non-lawyer politicians (such as Bush/Cheney) at some point in time have or
will be involved in conflicts of interests, those bridges should be crossed by the
three branches of government that is preserved by checks and balances and
separation of powers. One cannot be a sponsor of a contestant and also be a
judge. When the conflicts of interest are grossly apparent and blatantly evident,
government should be restrained so that the people remain free and the
predictable and ironclad rule of law and not the arbitrary rule of lawyers is
maintained. Law is to be made by the People, to be understood and utilized
by the People, to serve the People.
For those who think the law should be left to those who have "professional qualifications", they believe in the arguments made by religious theocrats, communists, and fascists. After all, these people had to undergo rigorous training in order to hold their positions. For government to operate with the consent of the governed, simpletons who understand that protection of people's
basic rights of their person and properties from physical harm or obvious deceit is government's only role, should hold any public sector-related job. Let the geniuses, knowledgeable, and innovative work in the fields of science, engineering,
trade, and the arts in which growth and mutual reciprocity are positives. Please
always remember that brilliance and "high skills" in politics and law will result in
the death knell of our liberties. Look at Hitler and Lenin.
Government is force and its agents are proponents of a zero-sum game. It does not make the pie grow bigger. It decides who gets what share of the pie instead.
That is why it must be limited. Yet America had 95 million legal actions last year, with many resulting in secret settlements. Lawyers reaped hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars an hour for their focused and concentrated effort in many cases.
Only citizens should be allowed to publicly contribute to political candidates and parties during campaign season.
Please read what a certain messenger proclaimed in the struggle for freedom against the scribes, pharisees, and other hypocritical elements of the aristocracy in verses 46 and 52, Chapter 11, Book of Luke, Holy Bible.
"And he said,Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! For you lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers."
"Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken the key of knowledge:ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered"
- Jesus of Nazareth
