The Representarian Party-Part Seven
The Representarian Party-Part Seven
Written are some of the other features this new political party will try to promote. These may not be core features but they are very important to consider nonetheless.
1. Ranked Choice Voting- The voters are allowed to cast their secondary choices for political office. If a political race does not have a majority winner, then the 2nd place votes received by the candidate with the least amount of first place votes gets distributed to all the other candidates. This distribution takes place until a candidate receives a majority of total votes.
All totals are posted. Ranked Choice Voting enables people to vote for minor party and independent candidates without feeling that they are wasting a vote.
2. Top Four Primary- This can be used so that more than one member of a political party can appear on the ballot for the general election. While anyone can contest the general election, only the top four vote getters in that top four primary will be listed on the ballot. Other candidates will have to be written in on that ballot.
3. Government-sponsored debates, 30 minute speeches in a public forum, and government newsletters containing all candidates' campaign statements must be provided to all candidates listed on the ballot. Government, within a month of an election, must provide the Top Four Candidates these "amenities" at taxpayers' expenses. After all, the constituents have the responsibility to provide certain infrastructure in order for those candidates to express their views to them (the constituents).
