Palestine Should Have Been Allowed To Become A Sovereign Nation In 1948

Nine years before the Zionist colonial takeover of much of the Palestinian region, Palestine was well on its way in becoming an independent and sovereign nation. They had already established their own national currency in 1939.

In the Balfour Declaration of 1917, the British government promised the British Zionist Federation a national home for the Jews in Palestine. One problem with that was at that time of this promise, Palestine belonged to the Ottoman Empire and only 10% of its population were Jewish. In the aftermath of World War One, the Ottoman Empire was dissolved and Palestine came into custody of the U.N.
The U.N. thus mandated the British government provide temporary military and administrative rule of Palestine until that region was able to provide permanent governance for themselves.
It must be understood that taking custody of something and/or someone is absolutely not the same as taking possession of something and/or someone. Taking custody means safeguarding something and/or someone until a permanent status for that someone and/or something can be achieved. This means that after the Ottoman Empire (Turkey) relinquished their possession of Palestine due to their defeat in World War One, it was the Palestinians who became owners of Palestine. In the aftermath of that global war, it was the Palestinian people who came into possession of the Palestine region.
An analogy is the Lisa Marie Presley's inheritance. When her father, Elvis Presley, died, she inherited his assets. Since the law will not allow a 9 year old to manage those inherited assets, it was deemed by the courts that her mother and Elvis Presley's ex-wife, Priscilla Presley, would be in charge of those inherited assets until Lisa Marie turned 25. Those inherited assets would lead to the intended establishment of Elvis Presley Enterprises and Graceland.
The U.N. are the courts, the British government is Priscilla Presley, the Palestinian people are Lisa Marie, the inherited assets is the Palestinian region, and the intended earmarked establishment of those inherited assets is the Palestinian nation. This analogy should help everyone to understand that any part of Palestine was never land for the U.N. and/or the British government to give to anyone. That Palestine region belonged to its inhabitants after Turkey's defeat in World War One. It should have remained that way as Palestine was in the formation process of nation status.
Could the nation of Palestine comprising of that entire region allow Jews to immigrate to it? That should have only been answered by the Palestinian representative government. If they allowed Jews to immigrate to it and become loyal citizens of the Palestine nation, that should have been their prerogative only. That region should have never been colonized as a dumping ground for European Jews which resulted in the expulsion of 700,000 people living in that region.
