Participants in any government branch can indeed be members of any American political party provided they do not have policy decision-making authority for that party. Anyone with any type of executive authority in any political party structure should be prohibited from being a participant in any branch of government.

Political parties are private entities. Their influence over the Body Politic and public governance must be limited.
