Alternative Choosing Of The Governor Electors and Vice-Governor Electors- Part Two
Alternative Choosing Of The Governor Electors and Vice-Governor Electors- Part Two
Every governor elector will receive electoral votes as follows. The population of a locality as per the latest census is divided by 100,000 (One Hundred Thousand) and then rounded up to the nearest whole value. After that, each locality is allocated an additional two electoral votes because it is represented by two officeholders in the state legislature.
For example, Bath County Virginia has the population of 4307. So when its population figure is divided by 100,000 and rounded up to the nearest whole value, that figure is one. After the addition of two electoral votes, Bath County Virginia would have three electoral votes that its choice of elector would be able to cast for governor.
Another example is New York City, New York. Their population is 8.27 million. So when its population figure is divided by 100,000 and rounded up to the nearest whole value, that figure is 83. After the addition of two electoral votes, NYC, NY would have 85 electoral votes that its choice of elector would be able to cast for governor.
The Governor's role and responsibility, as presider of the administration of the law, is supposed to be based on a population-based democratic model as his/her role and responsibilities are more connected to the constituency than that of the Vice-Governor. Therefore its election must be based on the area-based democratic model as cross-selection is needed for the choosing of officeholders in the executive branch.
This
is another way of having the Governor electors chosen. All registered voters of a
locality directly choose electors for this positions.
While all localities are represented by an elector, the more the populated the locality, the more electoral votes it has.
Electoral
votes are allocated as follows. As per the latest census, the
population of a locality is divided by 100,000. Then that figure is
rounded up to the nearest whole number. In addition, two other electoral
votes are provided to each locality.
