Representative Democratic Model- Selectable Offices Part Three (Attorney General's Office)
If the states were much more sovereign than they are now, the state executive branch could play a role in choosing law enforcement executive heads at the federal level. Since they are not, the federal government will never allow any state government executive branch participation.
The President Of The United States (POTUS) should select six candidates for the position of Federal Chief Prosecutor currently referred to as the Federal Attorney General. The Vice-President of the United States (VPOTUS) nominates one of these candidates to serve as Federal Chief Prosecutor.
The majority of members of the U.S. House of Representatives confirms the VPOTUS' nominee for this position. If that nominee does not receives the majority of votes, then the entire process of choosing must re-start.
The Federal Chief Prosecutor is subject to one reconfirmation by U.S. House of Representatives after serving six years. 55% of confirmation votes from the U.S. House Of Representatives, with quorum limits achieved, is needed in order for the current Federal Chief Prosecutor to serve another term. If reconfirmation is not successful, then the entire process starts over again.
Cliff Notes: Out
of the federal legislature, the President, and the Vice-President, the Vice-President is supposed to be the most insulated from the People since they are supposed to be selected by
electors based on an Area-Based Democratic Model. That is why they should nominate the Federal Chief Prosecutor because nomination is far more crucial than the initial selection of candidates and even the confirmation of a nominee in the choosing of this specific officeholder.
The
Federal Attorney General is the head of a prosecutorial law enforcement
department that is more shielded from the People than the public safety and investigative law enforcement department. That is why the Vice-President has to perform the most important role in the choosing process, which is nomination.
Since
the federal legislature is most directly connected to and with the
People, they have the least crucial role in the choosing of
the Federal Attorney General.
