If a judicial, bureaucratic, or law enforcement officeholder receives approval directly from the people, the tendencies for that officeholder to make law, instead of administering, applying, and enforcing the law as it is written, become too strong.
Only officeholders that deal with legislation should be chosen by the electorate.
