Representative Democratic Model- Selectable Offices Part Twelve (Vice-Mayor/Vice-County Chairman)
The members of the local legislature bid and then nominate the Vice-Mayor/Vice-County Chairman with majority support. The nomination process works like this. Every local legislator submits his/her bid for Vice-Mayor/Vice-County Chairman. The candidate who wins the majority of votes becomes the local legislature's nominee for Vice-Mayor/Vice-County Chairman.
If no candidate wins the majority, then the Top Three or less candidates who received the most amount of votes are again voted on by the local legislators.
The local legislators each cast votes for their first two choices for nominees out of the pool of Top Three or less bids. The first choice for nominee by a legislator receives two electoral votes. The second choice for nominee by a legislator receives one electoral vote. The candidate who receives the highest number of electoral votes becomes their nominee for Vice-Mayor/Vice-County Chairman.
The nomination of the Vice-Mayoral/Vice-County Chairman by the local legislature is submitted to the Mayor/County Chairman. If the County Chairman/Mayor signs off, the local legislature's nominee becomes the Vice-Mayor/Vice-County Chairman. If the Mayor/County Chairman objects and does not sign off, then his/her objection has to be overridden. That local legislature's nominee for Vice-Mayor/Vice-County Chairman has to be directly voted on for the final time. 60% direct approval and consent for that nominee is needed from the local legislature to override the County Chairman/Mayor's objection.
If that local legislative nominee receives a minimum of this, then he/she becomes the Vice-Mayor/Vice-County Chairman. If not, then the whole process must again restart.
Cliff Notes Version: The Local Legislature nominates the Vice-Mayor/Vice-County Chairman to the Mayor/County Chairman.
If
that Mayor/County Chairman approves, that nominee becomes the Vice-Mayor/Vice-County Chairman.
If the Mayor/County Chairman objects,
his objection must be overridden by 60% direct vote for that nominee by the local
legislature.
